The objective of the project is to design a system for structural health monitoring of the most critical parts of load bearing structures of bridges and pedestrian bridges. The system will allow remote monitoring of the structure, data collection and archivation as well as real-time observation. It will also automatically send messages and alerts when the critical values are detected. The main goal of the project is to develop integrated sensors based on the Fibre Bragg Gratings (FBG) principle suitable for monitoring of actual condition of steel reinforcement of reinforced-concrete bridge structures and for monitoring of critical parts of load bearing structures of glulam pedestrian bridges over their lifetime.
